MUZAFFARABAD – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Saturday came down hard on the federal government, saying that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should resign in the wake of the Panama revelations.
Bilwal, who was addressing a rally here in the Azad Jammu Kashmir capital, said that the prime minister didn’t focus on education “as they didn’t need iron”. He said the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) only knew how to defame others.
Commenting on the Panama Papers, the PPP chief said that Nawaz Sharif is not a politician but a transactor. He said the PPP won’t tolerate corruption. “Nawaz Sharif’s defeat is Narendra Modi’ defeat as the latter is a friend of the former,” he added.
The PPP rally comes weeks after the Panama revelations, a massive 26-terabyte data revealing offshore assets’ details of influential people. It is pertinent to mention here that all the major opposition parties, including PTI and JI, have demanded the prime minister to resign.
