ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said on Monday that if PTI workers were allowed to proceed they will wreak havoc in Islamabad.
While talking to a private news channel, the federal minister said that this is response to a question asked about Police shelling on PTI convoy in Swabi led by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak. “These are neither convoys nor public for whom the routes have been obstructed,” he commented. He said that since two days the CM has been delivering provocative speeches.
He said that Khatak talked about locking down Islamabad, adding that the party is giving the message of violence and unrest. “The government is not afraid of these demonstrations,” he said. He said when the PTI workers were allowed in 2014 to proceed to Islamabad, they attacked PTV and Parliament House.
Saad Rafique also said that the government has given permission to hold protest in Parade Ground on Nov 2, and it is willing to make preparations for it. In Swabi, police used tear gas shelling to disperse the PTI’s convoy led by KPK Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak, stating that they would not be allowed to proceed to Islamabad.
Meanwhile the Motorway connecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab has been sealed with containers.
