ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali has constituted seven benches and a larger bench at the principal seat to hear a number of important cases during the next week, starting from April 4.
The five members larger bench comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Amir Hani Muslim, Justice Iqbal Hameeur Rahman and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain would hear the important cases including election matter of Former President Pervez Musharraf, constitutional petitions under Article 184 challenging Order 26 Rule 6 of the Supreme Court Rules 1980 which requires the same counsel to appear at review stage, contempt of court case against former President Asif Ali Zardari, election matters of different parliamentarians, a contempt of court case.
The first bench comprises of Chief Justice, Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman, and would hear the cases pertaining to election disputes of different members of National and Provincial assemblies, contempt of court, petition against direct recruitment of ministerial staff instead of promoting petitioners in PHC, cases against reduction in salary and termination of DHA employees.
The second bench consist of Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain would hear the cases including FBR petitions against different individuals, while the third bench comprising of Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Tariq Pervez. Fourth bench comprising Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Faisal
Atab would hear cases including election petitions of different parliamentarians and somatization regarding number of deaths due to pneumonia & Hepatitis and NAB cases.
The fifth bench consist of Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Dost Muhammad Kham and Justice Qazi Faez Isa. Sixth bench consist of Justice Sh. Azmat Saeed and Justice Umar Ata Bandial, while seventh bench consist of Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Manzoor Ahmed Malik.
According to case lists, no adjournment on any ground will be granted and no application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the Court.
