Residents of Karachi continue to face severe difficulties as several areas remain without electricity more than 24 hours after heavy rainfall hit the city yesterday.
The rain resumed today, but electricity in multiple neighborhoods, including Gulistan-e-Johar Blocks 7, 8, 13, 18, and several parts of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Korangi, and Mahmoodabad, has still not been restored.
Other affected areas include Akhtar Colony, Manzoor Colony, Defence View, and Malir Alamgir Society, where residents have struggled to carry out daily activities due to the ongoing power disruption.
Meanwhile, K-Electric claims restoration efforts are underway. Spokesperson Imran Rana said electricity supply will resume once field teams receive safety clearance and accumulated rainwater is drained from affected sites.
Power has already been restored in several areas, including North Nazimabad Blocks L and M, Askari 5, Malir Cantt Sector J, Orangi Town, Shamsi Colony, Feroz Shah Colony, Bangla Bazaar, and multiple sectors of Federal B Area.
Additional neighborhoods with restored electricity include Badr Commercial Streets 2, 6, 9, and 12, Zamzama Commercial, Azam Basti, DHA Phase 5, Clifton Blocks 2 and 9, Gulistan-e-Johar Blocks 15 and 17, City Railway Colony, Defence, Dhuraji, CP Berar, and Faran Society.
