Lahore Mayor Colonel (r) Mubashir Javaid has demanded formation of a medical board to examine the health of Paragon Housing Society Director Qaiser Amin Butt, who is currently in the custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Flanked by deputy mayors Mian Tariq and Nazeer Swati during a press conference on Friday, the Lahore mayor voiced concern over the poor health of Butt. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said that the anti-graft body had arrested Butt for not becoming an approver in the ongoing housing society probe.
The mayor said that Butt’s family members and lawyers were not being allowed to meet him, adding that the PML-N was being pushed against the wall. “Authorities are taking revenge under the garb of accountability,” he alleged. Mubashir Javaid said he will lodge a first information report against the NAB director general if anything happens to Butt.
Butt was arrested by the NAB from interior Sindh on Wednesday.
